Legal Question in Family Law in California

Does a mental and physical handicap adult need a conservatorship once he/she reaches adulthood where the appointed legar guardian would then expire? This may be needed to manage the person's affairs?

If the adult still needs assistance with her/his affairs, then you should petition the court for a conservatorship.

It depends on whether the person can handle their own affairs or not. If so, yes, the guardianship will expire and you will need to get a court order for a conservatorship in its place.
