Legal Question in Family Law in California

mentally-ill wife

My wife of 31 years is mentally with little chance of significant improvement. If I seek a divorce, will I be required to support her for the rest of my life? She is unable to work at this time.

Re: mentally-ill wife

The State of California knows that since she can't work either you will support her or the State would support her. The State of California makes the laws and has chosen you to be the one to support her. If she is unable to work you may be required to support her for the rest of her life or your life and maybe beyond your life. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
