i want to know what i need to do next.... I met a girl who i slept with and she got pregnant and claims im the father she had the baby i signed the birth certificate ( i was 17 at the time) i have been to two appointment for a paternity test and the mother never showed up. I need to know what to do because this is making my life very complicated and stressful. my question is what should i do to speed this process up so i can get closure to this situation. i am 18 and currently living in northern calif Contra Costa County.....Thank you for your time i appreciate it .......Rick

Have you filed a proceeding to set aside the declaration of paternity? If so, you can get a court order that she show up for testing. If not, you better do so soon, because the time limit for withdrawing a declaration of paternity is VERY short and you may have already blown past it.
I don't read in your post that you signed a voluntary declaration of paternity. If you did, you have 60 days after to do a rescission and file it with the department of child support service, or you will have 2 years from the birth of the child to file a paternity action disputing paternity.
