Legal Question in Family Law in California

Mexican Divorce

I have a friend whose wife divorced him in 1998 in Mexico and married another man the same week in Mexico. The woman recently filed for a California divorce from the second man and was told that she was still married to my friend because the divorce apparently was not recorded in California .My friend lives in Lakeland, Florida and remarried two years after he believed he was divorced. Is there any way that he can inexpensively resolve this problem. He has a copy of the origional divorce decree that was mailed to him from California in 1998. Can he record this document in Florida? Does he have to divorce his first wife and then remarry the second wife? Any legal answers would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me that your "friend" gor what he paid for. He needs to disclose the situation to his present wife ASAP and see a Florida attorney with her. Also he needs to take his checkbook. What a trade off, price or quality
