Mexican marriages

Are marriages of u.s.citizens performed in Mexico recognized as legal in the state of California?

In general, marriages which are legally performed and valid abroad are also legally valid in the United States, but the jurisdiction you get married in may impact your rights at divorce. See: http://www.travel.state.gov/law/info/marriage/marriage_640.html
