Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am in the military and I am getting a divorce in California. We have been separated for a year. We have already separated all personal items and agreed on a child support amount. How long would it take to finalize a divorce without having attorneys.

Divorces take a minimum of six months and a day from the date of service in order to be finalized. That is the legal "waiting period," and nothing can be done to shorten that time. In order to finish your divorce as quickly as possible, you will want to be sure that all of your paperwork is filed early, as judgments sometimes take 2-3 months to process through the clerks/court system. Good luck!
