Legal Question in Family Law in California

Military retirement benefits at divorce time

I have just past 20 years in the Marine Corps (resident of Texas but married in California). My wife and I have been seperated for two years. How much retirement money am I going to have to pay her? I am an E-8.

There is no predefined number, despite what your wive's attorney tells you. Community property says she owns half of what you own and vice versa. Depending on your attorney, your wive's attorney and how much fight you want to put into this the amount can change drastically.

If you would like to discuss this in more detail with a lawyer from a military family please let me know at your earliest convenience.
