Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hello. I'm a minor and my parents do not live with me. I live with my grandma, but she is not my LEGAL guardian. I want to change my name but does it require my parents/legal guardian to allow me to change my name? I looked at NC-100 and it has a box that says "Close Relative"? I am wondering if my grandma is still able to petition for my name change.

You need to contact your legal guardian. This is not something you can do without your legal guardian's permission.
