Legal Question in Family Law in California

Minor rights in visitation

Do minor teenagers (ages 13-15) have the right to say no to court ordered visitation with a biological parent who has been absent in their lives for 7-years. Will the minors be forced to 20% visitation if they do not want anything to do with the other parent who now wants to exercise those visitation rights as a result of the DA locating and attaching wages for child support payments that have not been paid in 7-years.

Re: Minor rights in visitation

they do not have the right to say no to the court order but their wishes can be considered if you ask the court to modify the order or to eliminate vistation.
