Legal Question in Family Law in California

minor seeing a therapist

I am the petitioner and the respondent took our minor child for ''evaluation'' with therapist without my consent or knowledge.

Is this legal ? what about Automatic Restraining orders ?

Re: minor seeing a therapist

As a parent, you have joint legal custody of your child, which means you have a right to be informed about and be heard on issues such as your child being submitted to therapy. I do not know of any "automatic" restraining order that prevents a parent from taking a child to a therapist. You should, however, be able to get a court order in your case that prohibits the other parent from taking this child to a therapist without your consent or a court order.
