Legal Question in Family Law in California

Minors counsel refuses to speak to his clients regarding...

specifically, for about a year now, the family court appointed minors counsel, continues to ignore the custodial parent (of three years), requests to speak to the children about specific issues that are to be dealt with in court next month. Minors are 7 and 9 years old. the plan that minors counsel has submitted to the court, a 50/50, from the current and past plan of everyother weekend and midweeks dinners (for the past 3 years). after conversing this with the children, this had caused some discontent to them, and they really do not want to leave the stability and security they have only came to know and rely on.as this totally splits their school week. their friends visits and overnights will diminish as the n/c does not keep up with the school and community and their friends. ive requested minors counsel to speak with them to hear their true desires about this drastic change, but he ingnores this and will not talk t6o them. his assumption that this is best , is very wrong. why will he not communicate their true desires? what can be done to avoid unhappiness for them?

You may have better communication if you obtained representation. Perhaps your attorney will be successful in his request to the children's counsel or at least argue the matter effectively to the court. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
