Legal Question in Family Law in California

Missing items!

while on vacation for three months, I

returned home to find that my closet

had been emptied. when I asked my

mother about my missing items, she

said she had no idea because at the

time she was also out of town. We

later found out, her boyfriend

assumed that I would not be

returning, and threw away my

belongings! I have since made an

itemized list, but some of the items

were irreplaceable (childhood photos,

birthday cards, ect.) I am distraught

over this and really would like to

settle this in court. Do I have a legit

case?

Re: Missing items!

The thing you should do is pursue a small claims case against the bf for throwing away your stuff. You need to have a reasonable value for the items and the amount you are claiming.

As always, please contact a qualified attorney prior to taking any legal action.

Good luck,
