Legal Question in Family Law in California

modification of custody
my ex was arrested for child endangerment, we had agreed for him to keep the children until I found a home, as my house had caught fire and was not livable. Also, we live 100 miles away from each other. One week before I found a house, I go to get my two children. Well, I got thrown into his case, because of 10 yr. old drug charges on my record. I lost my children because of some inconsistancy ie. missing few visits ,one court date. I gave them 33 clean drug tests. No dirtys.....200 mi. round trip was such a hardship on a wkly basis.I also, have my 14 yr. old daughter who has always lived with me. I get 6hrs. twice a month supervised by Its been 3 yrs. If I were to hire you as my attorney, tell me , what type of stradegy might we discuss/ how would you be benefitial to my case?
