modifying child support.
My partner of 4 years just lost his job. Is there a way to get an immediate reduction in support payments without incurring alot of lawyer fees? He and his ex have joint custody, the kids live with us 50% of the time.

Yes you need to file a motion to modify support immediately, a family court facilitator can help you do itself help or you should consult an attorney for help.

Yes. File an OSC re: modification of child support. If he lost his job, then there shouldn't be much opposition.
