Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hi, my mom has been separated from her husband for about 6 years and I was wondering if there is a quick manner in which for her to get a divorce. also she and her husband have a son together and he just turned 15 and lives with my mom. We live in California and the only quick solution I found was for people married less than I think 5 years and without children. I was just hoping you could tell me of a quick procedure I could help her along. Thank you so much.

What you are referring to is the summary dissolution of marriage procedure. The fact that they have children, disqualifies them from using this procedure. (Fam. Code, sect. 2400.) Unfortunately, she will have to file a regular Petition for Dissolution of Marriage.
