my mom has my sisters kids and she doesnt wanna help financially and she works, shes in abusive relationship, and my mom wants to try to get the guardianship of the kids what does she need to do? and how much is it?

It depends on who'd involved (CPS etc.) and what exactly is happening with your sister and your mom.

Assuming it's appropriate, she would have to file a petition in probate court to establish guardianship. However, there are several issues that would have to be resolved before determining what may need to be done along the way...there's no way to determine whether it can or should be done just with what you wrote.
