Mom's suicide attempt grounds for custody change?
My husband has 50% custody of his 5 year old son.
Today his mom swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills.
She also did this about 1 1/2 years ago. Is it a waste
of our time to go to court and request primary custody
for my husband and supervised visitation for her? He
was with us when the suicide attempt was made. How do

I am assuming that the mother you refer to is the mother of the your husband's son. You should immediately request sole legal and physical custody of the child. Mother has some mental problems that may represent a threat to the safety and welfare of the child.
The faster you act in this case the better. You may have to explain why you did not take action 1 1/2 years ago.
