Legal Question in Family Law in California

Money removed from joint account

it started out by him removing 25k from joint account, then using the money to take x-wife places, and using it for drugs, then he dodged all the contracts on trying to sell our house, he has to hire his attorney back, but owes him money, so he signs over the money from the sale of the house to his attorney, while the house was went off the market do to lack of contacting other half (him) attorney made orders that the house be sold by court order and making it look like it was me not cooperating! So the money sits in his attorneys account, I new nothing about this transaction. and for 8 months I was the only one paying the mortgage, he was court orderd but still would not pay. now he is trying to take this to trial and sue me for almost all but 1,000 of the 82 we made from the sale, he owes his lawyer about 18,000. I even asked for some of my money to get my own attorney, his attorney said no not until we figure this out, he wanted me to come into his office and arbitrate this with my x, how is that fair, he has an attorney but I am going solo. my x made this out to be all my fault, i made sure that all house pmts were made to avoid forclosure, and the whole 8 months he new where the money was going at the end of escrow. help.

You should go seek pro bono assistance with various legal aids. They can probably point you in the right direction.

In some instances if you are needy, you can get a court order to have him pay your attorney's fees.
