mother of 11month old is scared the father will get over night rights
the father of my 11 month old is
trying to get 50/50 custody. we were
never married and i am absolutely
against spliting my son between two
housholds at this age. I am still
breast feeding and don't think
sleepovers are appropriate at his age.
we live in ca and i'm getting the
feeling the law here isn't on my side.

He won't get 50/50 at this age. Some judges might give 1 overnight/week or every other week. Many people get sleepovers after 12 months old. If your households are close enough together and your work hours create enough availability, he might get 2 or even three visits/week for a couple of hours. It also depends on the child, how is he developing? How much contact has the father had? Does the child know and is he comfortable with the father? With breastfeeding, most people stop by 12 months, but there are also breast pumps such that you can send your son off with the father with a milk supply.
