Legal Question in Family Law in California

Mother moving from California to Michigan w/ o son

My son's mother is planning on moving to Michigan to be with her new boyfriend. She is expecting a baby within the next 6 months. We have been paying child support for the past 7 years. With her moving and having much less custody, will we have to continue to pay child support? Also, what is typical for visitation; does she have to pay for transportation?; will she be able to have him for most of the summer?; and holidays?.

It depends. These issues can be entered into by both interested parties before the move. If you cannot come to an agreement, you should file an order to show cause (OSC) to clarify each parties rights and responsibilities. Best regards.
