Legal Question in Family Law in California

mother violating visitation court order

I have a visitation court order that states I am to keep my 4 1/2 year-old

child as follows: Week one - Sunday (entire day) Monday (after school)

Week two- Monday and Tuesday after school. His mother is constantly

trying to change the schedule so I spend less time with my child. She

schedules activities with him on the time I should have my son, and I

oppose to this because I spend all week looking forward spending time

with him. Last week, she didn't want to give me my son, so I had to go

to pick up my son with a police officer - I asked for a civil stand by. This

week, she sent me an email saying that she will keep him next Sunday

and Monday, which are my days to have my son. I tried to reschedule

those two days, but she does not want to come to an agreement. She

just wants to keep him for those days. What can I do to prevent this

from happening? Thank you!

Re: mother violating visitation court order

Hi,

If the mother continues to block court ordered visitation with your son, you may seek contempt sanctions against her. Sometimes a demand letter from an attorney will do the job.

Give me a call if you want help with this situation.

Best of luck!!!
