Legal Question in Family Law in California
Hello, my mothers niece is dying of cancer she has three kids one aged 19. 15 and 13 and the kids father is not involved, however the question is who would get the kids? My mother is past the age of raising a child.

Another family member may petition the court for guardianship of the minor children. If the mother signs a consent form and leaves her wishes in writing prior to the time of her death, this may be considered by the court in making the determination as to who should have guardianship.
