Legal Question in Family Law in California

motion for attorney's costs

I hired a divorce attorney and paid him $1,000. All he did was file a motion. My husband wanted to settle but attorney didn't do anything for 3 months. I fired him; now he's filing motion for attorney's costs. What should I do?

Re: motion for attorney's costs

Send the attorney a written demand for an itemized bill. File a response to the motion stating what work he has done. Retaining other counsel to represent you with the dissolution of marriage and the fee dispute would be a wise move.
