I want to move out of california

I have lived in Northern California my entire life I have a four year old son and I want to move to Oregon. my ex boyfriend and I were never married and we have our own agreement nothing through the courts but child support. What are my rights and how do i go about moving?

It would be a good idea getting something from him in writing stating that you can move.

See, technically, you could move and be okay because there are no court orders. However, there's a chance he could go to court and ask the court to either stop the move or order you to come back, once you have moved.

It might be a good idea to file your own papers and ask for an order allowing you to move.

Probably be a good idea to consult with an attorney in your jurisdiction.
