Legal Question in Family Law in California

I want to move out of state

I have guardianship of a 7 year old boy. I am wanting to move out of state and would like to know if I have to petition the courts to do so. His mother and father have no legal visitation. Although the paternal grandfather has a minimum of 15 hours a month, he does not exercise these rights. So would I have to petition the courts? Thank you.

Re: I want to move out of state

YOu should go to court and get a cout order allowing you to move out of state. This will provide security for you, and reduce the possibility of having to return to Calfornia pending obtaining a court determination of where the child should live.
