Legal Question in Family Law in California
I want to move with my 14 year old daughter and her father said "you need my permission to move stop child support and you can have my permission." Can i fight that? I will drop child support if he drops his rights to her.

A motion seeking a order allowing the move should be filed. Courts grants custodial parents the ability to move with children routinely. You need not give up child support to move.

You need to talk to a family law attorney in person. Mr. White is right. You do not have to give up child support to move. You do not need his permission if it is a good faith move for a good reason. The court will allow you to move and order his support to continue, maybe even increase.
