Legal Question in Family Law in California
I moved out from my apt from my wife 3 weeks ago. We had agreed to do a summary dissolution because we meet all the requirements and she still wants to do this. However since I have moved out she has been opening up a credit line for 4k for furniture in her name only. While we were married I handled all the bills because she was poor with financial management, If she opts to not pay this or falls behind or if she tries to go through with a threat to stick me with something like this can she really do this because we are still married and only physically separated and not divorced? And if we continue with the summary dissolution do you need an attorney?

You need to get your divorce on file immediately and get her served. That will put an automatic restraining order in place against taking on any debt for which the other person might be liable. If she doesn't pay and the creditor persues it, you might be liable for the debt because you were not under a divorce restraining order yet. Yes, she can really do this.
You don't need an attorney for the summary dissolution, but you probably should consult with one about this.
