Legal Question in Family Law in California

moving out of CA to VA with daughter, do I need permission from father or court?

I have a child support case and visitation schedule set up with her father. I have my daughter 75%, he has her every other weekend and 1 night/week. I will be moving to Northern VA in June. Do I need to get permission from the court to move with her out of state or establish child custody? I know her father will fight me on this. How soon should I look into legal action?

You can move anywhere you like. However, you may wish to stipulate with the child's father to adjust his visitation schedule to something more convenient, as allowing him the time the child is on breaks from school.
