Legal Question in Family Law in California

Moving child

I am an out of state father that is moving across country to be closer to my 7 yr old son. His mother is petitioning the court to allow her to move to a remote area in Oregon where it will be almost impossible for my wife and I to find gainful employment. My ex-wife lives off a trust fund and does not work. Is there any case law that can prohibit her from moving to this non-metropolitan area? Thanks

Re: Moving child

There are no cases that state she cannot move. The only power of the court is to prevent your son being moved. You should file a motion to prevent your son being moved. The court must then make a decision that will serve the best interests of the child. The amount of time and the quality of the relation between you and your son.
