Legal Question in Family Law in California

Moving Children from CA to NV

I'm planning on relocating to Nevada from California, as I'm getting married and we are settling there. I have 2 children and their father and I share Legal Custody with me having primary physical custody. Do I need to take any legal action? Or can I move out of state without doing so? The father was in agreement to work out a plan without going to court. Now he has changed his mind and will not allow me the move. He only has visitation rights which he rarely exercises and has never paid me child support.

Re: Moving Children from CA to NV

The safest approach is to go to court and get an order allowing you to move with the children. Failing to get this order may result in father obtaining an order for your to bring the children back to California pending a hearing on the move issue.
