moving to different city

i have a daughter from a previous relationship and i have sole custody of her. the other parents has visitations every other weekend. i live in san diego, ca but plan on moving up to long beach,ca at the end of the year. i know i have to notify the other parent in advance prior to the move. i wanted know what if he does'nt agree with me moving her to a different city?does it make a difference that i have sole custody?

If you only have to notify the other parent in advance, then do so, but in writing, tell him you need to know by a certain date because you are making plans to move. If you want the certainty of knowing it will be okay to move, file an Order to Show Cause for a move-away order.

You should really go over the orders to determine whether you can move or not, and under what conditions.
