Legal Question in Family Law in California

Moving and custody

I currently have a court order that states my son is to visit his father two weekends a month. My ex moved 300 miles away out of the county. Am I still obligated to follow the court ordered vistitation? I feel this distance to too much for a child to travel twice a month.

Re: Moving and custody

You are obligated to follow the court order. You may have to return to court for a modification of the child visitation order if warranted.

Re: Moving and custody

Yes, but you are not obligated to provide transportation unless required by court order. If you apply for a modification, you will probably get it and will probably limit the visits to one time per month.
