Legal Question in Family Law in California
re: moving out/ separation
Hello and thank you- My husband and I have agreed to separate and I am looking for an apartment. Currently I live in his house that he owned before we were married. He pays the mortgage and makes quite a bit more $ than me. We have no children. Affording my own place is a concern for me but I really feel a need to move on with my life. In speaking with attorneys to discuss how to proceed with settlement in the event of divorce, I was advised not to move out until I come in for an assessment, but I do not understand why. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or advice on this subject. Thank you!

Re: re: moving out/ separation
I would strongly suggest that you consider the advice of your attorney. By the way, it seems you may have an interest in "your husband's" home. Your attorney should be able to run an Moore-Marsden analysis to determine your interest.
