moving out of state
i have sole legal and phys custody - we both are in CA - i want to move to GA to get remarried and filed for change in visitation so ex can have them at least 1 month in summer or more- he now wants full custody and has an atty i cannot afford one - he tried for custody 2 yrs ago and he got angry in a parenting class so bad the facilitator asked if i was okay and if i was safe - also have a ltr on file with court from a corrections sargeant abt an incident endangering our kids- all friends who know me and my kids and my fiance are in favor of the move - research shows GA would be better for us - should i get an atty? can i get one pro bono and how? would i stand a chance if I went in pro per? he has remarried a woman close in age to our daughter - eldest is almost 15 and only goes for visits maybe 3 times a year - his visits with the other 2 are infrequent - please help - court date is 6/15 - my divorce atty in 2001 said if i had a chance to move out of state to take it...

You can go without an attorney, but you would benefit from being represented by an attorney. With the lack of contact and the violent temper your chances of getting favorable outcome is good.
