Legal Question in Family Law in California
Hello, I am a Muslim girl living in California and I am in love with my father's brother's son(first cousin) who lives in India and is a Hindu. Is it possible to marry him in India? My mother and father were married in civil court as she was Muslim and he Hindu, and I am not sure what to do in this as Muslims may marry their first cousins while Hindus may not yet I am not sure if our status as first cousins jeopardizes this. This question needs to be posted to lawyers in India, since it asks what can be done there. If he were to come here to marry, it would depend on what state you wanted to get married in.
