Legal Question in Family Law in California
naming my baby
Hi!
Because of things that have
happened in my family, I want to
pick a last name for my baby that is
different from my family name or the
father's name. Is this legal?
I am a minor, if that is important.

The fact that you are a minor is not relevant. This is the first time I have heard this request. When the baby is born tell the hospital the name you want for the child and see what their response is to that request.
