Non Payment of Court Ordered Child Support

i live in calif and i filed for divorce in 1995 and my x husband was order to pay 450.00 a month that was a 25 yr marriage and a child who is 16 now. he lives in chicago ill and hasnt paid anything at all . i want to know if i can have him arrested in chicago and brought back to calif to settle this matter ? or would i have to go to chicago hire a lawyer or what please answer my question on how i should handle this matter

Rather than having him arrested, it would probably be a better solution for you in your child to just get the money. I would consult with a Chicago lawyer and see if there is a procedure under Illinois law to use the California order to attach his wages

If you have an order from the State of California then you may proceed to obtain a Judgment for support in California and register and enfoce the Judgment against him in Chicago. He may be prosecuted for lack of providing support for the minor child but you first have to open a case with District Attorney's Office for that purpose.
