Legal Question in Family Law in California

Non-liability of Spouce Debt i.e. Auto loans, Credit cards ect.

How do I keep myself from being held accountable for debt that my spouce may bring while I am going through a divorce??? If my spouce gets tangeled up in an enourmous ammount of debt we are unfortunately still married and these collections agencies and what not will come after me and ruin my credit. How do I prevent this???

You are liable for any credit cards or lines of credit that you signed for until you cancel them. Call these credit card or credit line creditors and cancel them. Followup the telephone call with a letter verifying the telephone call.
