Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have a notarized agreement with soon to be ex to pay monthly alimony. he is now withholding until he gets a final demand from the courts. this could take months and I need that money for my livelihood. i don't have a lawyer, am doing all the paperwork myself

There is not nearly enough information here to give you a suggestion, other than to hire an attorney, and don't ever count on things remaining civil during a divorce. A notarized agreement may be helpful for a judge to know what the parties at one time considered a fair amount to order, but if he doesn't willingly pay, you need a court order signed by a judge.

You can request an order shortening time for a hearing on a support motion. Contact the Family Law Facilitator in your local court for help on that process. They can't give legal advice, but they exist to help with the process and forms.
