Legal Question in Family Law in California

Notarized Note Legality

For the last few years I have been paying my ex-wife $300 a month for ''debt incurred'' during the relationship. I have since found out that this number was essentially ALL the debt that we had. She makes triple what I do, has a car that's paid for by her company and I took with me absolutely nothing at the end of the relationship.

I feel tricked and slighted, what can I do?

Thanks for your response in advance.

Re: Notarized Note Legality

An attorney would need more facts about your situation (including the terms of your judgment, the background on this agreement or how it fits into the judgment, and exactly what period of time we are talking about) to give you competent information - much less advice - about what your options are now. It makes sense to consult with an attorney to go over your case in detail. Be aware that free consultations are generally not for receiving detailed legal advice. It may be worth retaining an experienced family law attorney to review your file and advise you on your options. Good luck!
