Legal Question in Family Law in California

Opposing attorney represented me previously

My divorce was final 6/2000. I can no longer afford an attorney (many, many continuances.) Opposing attorney represented me in car accident in 1996. He appeared for ex-husband ex parte in divorce 7/9/1999 when ex was removed from house for substance abuse. Wrote a declaration against me 7/21/1999, as his friend, never mentioned he represented me previously. Became his attorney of record in 2000, I believe. Papering me to death, ran up my costs, and I believe there is a conflict as well as he placed himself in the role of a witness in the declaration and then became the attorney. HELP!!!

you can file a motion asking the court to remove him as a lawyer on the case.
