order after hearing
what are the consiquences to not preparing the order after hearing in a custody/visitation case?

Check your county's Local Rules. In Sonoma County the judge will ask one side to prepare the order. If they don't do it in I think it's 10 days the other side may do it and submit it to the court with a cover letter and send a copy to the opposition. The judge will then usually wait a few days to sign it to see if there is any objection. The orders that are announced in court are in the court's file and you may get a copy of the minute order if you are unsure what to put in the Oder After Hearing. If it is still unclear you can as a last resort order a copy of the transcript.
