Order to Show Cause or Informal Mediation
I have a domestic violence restraining order against my husband. He has visitation court ordered. We need to adjust the time for the weekly visitation and we need to add vacation times for both of us to have our child. Do I need to fill out Order to Show Cause form and go thru the courts or can I just use the Informal Mediation the court offers? Can Informal Mediation be used to make minor adjustments to a court order?

Re: Order to Show Cause or Informal Mediation
IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO TRY TO WORK THINGS OUT BETWEEN YOURSELVES AND A MEETING WITH THE CONCILIATION COURT MAY BE ALL YOU NEED. IT IS CERTAINLY THE MOST INEXPENSIVE WAY TO GO AND YOU WILL NOT INCUR ANY ATTORNEY'S FEES. IF YOU ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL IN REACHING AN AGREEMENT, THEN YOU CAN FILE YOUR ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE.
