Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have a OSC hearing coming up shortly in a Calif. court. Resp. was served and immed retained an attorney. Should the attorney also be served with the OSC?

No, it is not necessary unless the attorney was attorney of record at the time you served the OSC. It is the Respondent's duty to take papers served on them to the attorney that they retain. If the attorney contacts you, and asks for a copy, I would suggest providing an extra copy, because lay people tend to lose important documents on the way to their attorney's office. This is a courtesy, and not a legal requirement.
