Legal Question in Family Law in California

Overpaid child support?

I've been paying child support for approximately a year now to the adjacent County to mine for my son, I recently discovered that the County is paying my son's custodial person $364 a month, yet they are recieving $583 a month in support, Where does the extra $219 a month go? When I try to ask the worker she will not answer the question and goes along to talk about something else. I was told that I could request an audit of the account and they have to comply by CA law, is this correct information? Will this audit include the amount paid out by the County?

Re: Overpaid child support?

Child support is set by the court. Any amount of support ordered by the court in excess of the amount of aid paid by the county should go to the mother of the child. The county mus provide a statement of the amount received and the amount paid out. The paid out would be in two areas. First a reimbursement to the county and second the amount paid to mom.
