Legal Question in Family Law in California

overpayment of child support in full

My husband just relized he has been

overpaying his child support for

several years by twice as much, we

estimate he has overpaid about 20

thousand dollars and the child is now

14 yrs old, and we have already

overpaid this large amount? His ex is

on welfare and doesn't recieve the

money, will we get any money back?

Who will pay? WE are shocked?

What should we do?

Re: overpayment of child support in full

Do an accounting of how much you paid and who you paid it to. Then file an OSC to modify support and seek credit for the overpayments.
