Legal Question in Family Law in California

I paid the rent for September of 2010 then the next day my boyfriend/roommate puts a restrainin order against me. I am on the lease but not living. what should I do. Court date is Sept. 22, 2010.

Is there anyone that can represent me for free?

I don't have a place to live, need my security deposit back before I can get a place on my own. Boyfriend is holding all the cards. I don't want to continue to pay rent when the landlord can find someone else and break the lease. Any advise for me.? please

My best suggestion is that if the restraining order is made permanent, you cease paying the rent. There is no use in paying rent on a place you can't live.
