I am a female professiional in the field of Military Specifications Applications for the Electronics Industry. I spent 29 years working toward the goal of Quality Management in the Electronics Industry. I achieved my goal in 1995. I reunited with an old friend in 1999, and was made and accepted the proposal of marriage from a gentleman in Nov. 2000, our engagement of one year was stressed by the long distance between us. ( I lived and worked in Huntington Beach CA. and traveled to see him on week-ends) I was persuaded to quit my job and move in with him to prepare for our wedding, which I did. Now My fiance tells me he changed his mind and does not want to marry. Do I have any leagal recource?

Your situation is difficult. You may have a cause of action for detrimental reliance. That is you relied upon his promise to marry you. However, the issue of damages may be difficult to evaluate. You will have to look for employment to replace the job that you quit. You should discuss the facts of your case with attorney. Then evaluate your position.
