Legal Question in Family Law in California
If one parent filed for sole custody and the other responds back for joint custody, they talk and decide to come to an agreement without going through court at this time do they have to dismiss the case or do they have to do anything futher with the court if there has not been a hearing date appointed yet?

Its critical that you have a court ordered parenting plan. Filing an agreement with the court signed by the judge makes that agreement a court order. If the parents start disagreeing with each other, they have the court order to follow.
