other parent is out of state
how do i get a divorce if my husband lives in another state and i do not know his address?

If after a diligent search to find your husband's whereabouts you cannot find him the court can order that he be served by publishing in a newspapaer or possibly by posting at the court house. You can then get your dissolution. It will take about 8 months so start early. Good Luck, Pat McCrary

I recommend using an attorney for this process. First off you need to file a dissolution action with all the requsite paperwork. If you are not able to find your husbands whereabouts, you will then have to do a motion to publish the complaint. If the complaint is not answered then you would file a request for default.
